ABOUT US
Migrant Connections is about creating the world we want to see. A community where migration is celebration and status isn’t a barrier to living.
Migrant Connections was founded in 2017 by a group of people who had lived experience and were familiar with the issues faced by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants. From a small group of four focusing on a one-day festival, we have transformed into a group of 15 people working with campaigning groups and social centres on several projects - such as film screenings and spoken word nights - including our annual festival. We are regularly asking the question, “who is not here?” and trying to address any arising representation issues.
We couldn’t do this without partnering with others. We have worked with around 50 organisations so far including Liberty, the Migrant Rights Network, People and Planet, Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants, United Voices of the World, the Refugee Council, Docs not Cops and Sisters Uncut.
